Fishing Tournament

WE ARE A PROUD GROUP OF FISHING BROTHERS, with a strong passion for fishing. We are based out of Louisiana, we also love to help kids, find their passion for fishing, because fishing was a tool that I feel God used to help keep us, safe while living in New Orleans.

New Orleans City Park hosts the country’s oldest freshwater fishing tournament. Next March 23, 2024, will be its 75th annual BIG BASS RODEO. With well over 500 people in attendance. The BIG BASS RODEO has FOOD, MUSIC, and entertainment it also has a Mardi Gras toss. On Saturday, March 23, 2024, City Park Conservancy hosts the 75th-annual Big Bass Fishing Rodeo (BBR), the oldest freshwater rodeo in the country!

In addition to the bank-fishing-only main event, other activities include:

  • Battle for the Bass (BFTB)– Student fishing competition for grades 7-12
  • Boats on the Bayou (BOTB) – Bayou St. John fishing competition for kayakers and other non-motorized vessels
  • Fishtival – Free event featuring a DJ, raffle, a host of educational exhibitors, and new and used fishing gear for sale at great prices

The rodeo is a rain-or-shine event – no refunds are given. Wristbands must be worn at all times and presented to the weigh-master at the weigh station. Lost wristbands will not be re-issued. All anglers weighing in for BBR or BFTB must be in line at the weigh station before 11 am; and BOTB before 10:30 am.
